Day 01: Kathmandu – Rasuwa Gadi – Kyiorng
Early morning drive to Rasuwa gadi, drive will take about 6 to 7 hour. Drives offer view of terraced fields, river and rustic villages of Nepal before we enter Langtang National Park Area. From there further 1 hour drive to Rasuwagadi through narrow and zig zag road. After immigration formality of Nepal we take short drive and walk through the bridge before we do entry formality of Tibet where you will meet guide from Tibet side. After entry formality drive about 24 km around 1 drive to Kyirong where we end the journey of the day. O/N Hotel
Day 02: At Kyirong (Acclimatization Day) Visit Pakba Monastery OR Short hike to nearby valley
After Breakfast we visit Pakba Monastery then we spend a rest day at Kyirong today in order to acclimatize before heading up higher.
Or we go for small hike nearby Valley and return back to Hotel. O/N Hotel (BB)
Day 03: Drive to Saga
Today we drive approx 169 km, 6 to 7 hours to Saga. On the way we stop at the first high pass Ghungtang Lhamo pass at 5236 meter. On our way up you will feel the change in climate. Enjoy the Tibetan scenery. We will pass magnificent valleys and several Tibetan villages on our way. We will have enchanting views of the Mount Shishapangma and Pekutso Lake then continue drive to Saga crossing the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River). O/N Hotel (BB)
Day 04: Drive to Manasarovar
A longer day’s drive today, 480 km approx 8-9 hrs From Saga, we set out across the plains to Manasarovar located just 30km south of Mt Kailash. The lake is separated from another lake, Rakshas Tal, myth has it here Ravana prayed and had the audience with Shiva. O/N Tea House Lodge (BB)
Day 05: Drive to Darchen
After Breakfast walk nearby Lake Manasarovar then we drive for about 115 km towards Darchen, the Base Camp of Kailash where we stay overnight. O/N Hotel (BB)
Day 06: Trek to Dira Puk
Drive about 13 km to Tarboche, the starting point for our Kora, the 35 km trek around the mountain. From Tarboche, we walk up the Lha Chu Valley through beautiful green meadows and streams with Mt Kailash towering above us. Those who wish to trek around Kailash can return to Manasarovar or Darchen and wait for the Kora group to return. O/N Tea House Lodge (BB)
Day 07: Trek to Zutul Puk
We now leave the Lha Chu Valley and enter the Dolma Chu Valley, heading towards a high pass, the Dolma La (5650m). It’s a tough climb to the summit which is adorned with prayer flags but from there it is all downhill or flat to Zutul-puk. O/N Tea House Lodge (BB)
Day 08: Trek to Darchen and drive to Saga
On the final day of the Kora we cross several streams. We then enter the Bharka plain and it’s about an hour’s walk through this desert-like landscape to Darchen. We board the car waiting at Darchen and we continue driving today along a 492 km stretch of road to Saga. O/N Hotel (BB)
Day 09: Drive to Kyirong
The morning after breakfast drive to Gyirong, we may glimpse Himalaya, high pass over 5000 m and Piku Tso Lake. Today, the difference in landscape is quite special barren rugged landscape of Tibet to the mighty Himalayas, where the scenery changes to rich forests, typical of the Nepalese foothills. At the recent earthquake in Nepal, it serves as the main port of entry into Tibet when coming overland to and from Nepal. O/N Hotel (BB)
Day 10: Kerung / Kyirong – Kathmandu
After breakfast, we drive 24 km approximately 1 hour downhill to reach Chinese immigration (Rasuwa Gadi bridge) after the immigration process, we walk through the Bridge where vehicles from the Nepal side will be waiting, After driving for about 1.5 km we do immigration formality in Nepal side and continue drive to Kathmandu.
